Andrea grew up in Michigan where she spent her days drawing pictures of fish and playing in the forest. She left the woodlands to attend Kendall College of Art and Design where her time was filled with long days and sleepless nights in the studio, she received her BFA in Illustration. After graduating she moved to Chicago where she learned to apply good design in a fast paced environment at KBA Marketing. Working with a young, hungry group who demanded new, cutting-edge ideas, and always pushed for better, cooler design she was taught how to think outside the layout, from concept through execution. She spent the next 7 years in Chicago at KBA Marketing and Draft FCB working with clients such as Milk, Camel, Chicago Mercantile Exchange and Kelloggs.
In 2006 she left Chi-town for Arizona and mined the desert for inspiration and a new adventure. Moved from retail and promotions to general advertising at the Martz Agencey. She immediately dove into the accounts of the agency’s biggest clients leading teams and nursing projects from infancy to adulthood. Andrea knows how to bring a project from the initial concept through the design process and presentations to overseeing the final output.
She developed a satisfying affinity for unique approaches to design through printing with fluorescent inks, varnishes and interesting papers. She has consistently worked on multiple projects, and churned when required.
Eventually she landed back in the world of retail at DW Green Co. only this time rebranding was the game. Multi-store supermarkets looking for complete overhauls on everything from ads to store signage and events. Appeal to the masses without seeming usual and expected.
She spends her free time with a bunch of downhill mountain bikers, driving shuttles, going to pumptrack parties and listening to hours of bike talk. When not with the biker she can be found illustrating the inhabitants of the woodlands and making trips to the farmers market.
